How Obedience Answers Prayer

Sometimes God asks me to do weird things. One day He asks me to tell one person “God wants you to use your voice more;” the next day He asks me to hang out with an eight year old.

Many times I have no idea WHY God is so insistent with His instructions. I feel like Daniel-son in Karate Kid and God is Mr. Miyagi saying, “Wax on…wax off.” Or I feel like The Arrow spending hours and hours slapping a bowl of water.

At the time, it doesn’t seem to make sense. But later, God brings me to just the right set of circumstances where suddenly all that waxing and slapping have a very clear and helpful purpose.

God often trains us without sharing why. But if we are not listening or obeying His promptings, we may find ourselves we may find ourselves stuck in the same old battles.

“And this is love: that we walk in obedience to his commands. As you have heard from the beginning, his command is that you walk in love.” – 2 John 1:6
